Thomas Ezard/Ezart/Izart/Hizzard etc Pocklington

Post by 130168 » Fri Jul 20, 2012 11:02 am

Looking to find the baptism of a Thomas Ezard says born Pocklington c1817 in the 1851 census. Possibly the son of Woodall Ezard born Langtoft 13 March 1792.
Tried the IGI but so many different spellings of this name, any help appreciated,
Thanks
Phil.

Phil
I'll try to help you with this one when I'm next in the archives. I'm interested in the Ezard family, though mine is not the Pocklington branch. There may be a Langtoft connection with my line at a much earlier date, i.e. late 17th / early 18th century.

I have searched the Pocklington BTs (PRs not available)from 1814 to 1821 and found no Ezard baptisms at all. I can only suppose Thomas lived there as a child, but didn't know for sure where he was born.

Sorry.

Did not find a babtism but on the 1851 cen. his birthplace is given as Pocklington. On Ancestry there is someone who has his father as Woodall. Thomas's middle name is also Woodall, he was one of 3 sons. Thos. m. Jane Jackson Nov 10 1840 and was on the 1861 Canadian census, Twp. 4 marion, IL USA 1870 cen., Osage, Camden, MO, USA 1880 cen. He d. Feb 5 at Lincreed, Camden, MO, USA. There is a pic. of Thos. & Jane on the Ancestry person's tree.

If Phil or Joyce happen to read this, I'd like to be in touch about the Ezard ancestry - which probably connects to mine. Someone might advise me a way to send them a msg - seems I'm not able, being a recent member? Thanks
