In reply to an earlier post. I have a Hutton Cranswick monumental inscription booklet - but couldn't find Fred, Mary or Sophia Simpson in it.

Hi Kay,
Thanks for looking at the graveyard book for me, I guess (as I said earlier) they must have been buried without headstones as I am sure they would not have had the money for headstones.

Through my research I have found an OVERFIELD Cousin who is coming over from Canada in May. She is planning to visit local Churchyards and the Archives at Beverley. I would really appreciate any information anyone out there might be able to give me regarding where she might find graves, also anything else she might find of interest. She is only here for 2 days.

Her Grandfather, SAMUEL Overfield born 1829 Little Driffield emigrated to Canada after his Wife and Family died.
In England (Driffield District)1851 he Married Jane Dowson b Foxholes 1827 I believe she died about 1870.
Their Children:-
GEORGE died Sept. Qtr 1859 Wetwang age 7
JOHN died Dec. Qtr 1859 age 3
ANNE born 1856 not sure what happened to her.

My Cousin's Great Grandfather JAMES died Sept Qtr1884 probably Wetwang
Great Grandmother SARAH died Dec Qtr1886 probably Wetwang
Uncle JAMES died 1911 Driffield
Aunt PAULINA died 1923 Driffield
I have visited the Churchyard at Wetwang, but couldn't find anything. Knowing that in 1881 James Snr was a "roadman" aged 80 I don't expect that they would have had Gravestones but perhaps she will be able to see their deaths recorded in the archives at Beverley.
