It's ages since I've been called a boy!

Robert and Ann were only married in 1846 and their oldest surviving child George William was born in 1849, so it is unlikely that Sarah Ann is their granddaughter. It is just about possible, mathematically, if Robert had an earlier marriage with children, but on balance I think Sarah Ann is their daughter - especially as her brother Henry is only 2 years older.
NB: The Lancashire Witch passenger list extract posted by Peter (above) doesn't include Sarah Ann. I've looked at the original document (Peter's source) and she is on the list, just above her parents' names. It seems that the names have been sorted by surname and by age, with any individuals annotated "Inf" coming first in their family.

The granddaughter living with George and Jane Holland in 1841 and 1851 is the illegitimate daughter of Robert's older sister Jane, who is also living with her parents in 1841.

Hi Peter Yes that is correct Robert Hollands son Henry is the father of Sidney Holland who was our Prime Minister. Henry was just 3 years old when Robert and Ann brought their family to NZ.

Can you please confirm that the above Robert Holland is the grandfather of a former National Prime Minister of New Zealand: Sir Sidney Holland (National Prime Minister of NZ 1949-1957)

Hi Diana

Which child of Robert and Anne Holland does your husband come from? I come from Frederick.

Just wanted to say "hi". I tried to send you a private email, but that option has been disabled.

Thank you to all the people who posted on Diana's original question. The information has helped me with our family tree. I have a Holland family tree book, but it starts with Frederick (where I come from), so its great to have the past history too.

Regards
Vanessa
