white cottage, north dalton

Post by steve m » Mon Jan 22, 2001 3:04 pm

I may have put this under the wrong heading. But...we've just bought a cottage in north dalton, white cottage. It is in the high street, two up from the Methodist Chapel. I'd love to know more about the history of the place. I know it is over 200 years old. I think it used to be a shop. I know there are three tumuli at the end of the garden. Any one with any ideas?

It is a good few years since I have logged into this site when I was a youngster we used to holiday in Dalton at my grandparents(Hatfield) and the propriators of the shop at that time were a family called Briggs you will probably have found this out by now. Kind regards John.
