Weaverthorpe Wagoners

Post by mhjh161 » Wed Sep 09, 2009 5:02 pm

It seems there was approx., 24 Wagoners from Weaverthorpe and the rest mentioned from other areas of the Wolds.

Would anyone know which farms the Weaverthorpe men when signing up came from, as my relative is Wgn. 968 Albert Harrowsmith, and the name `Harpers Farm` has been mentioned, but I cannot find a Harpers farm in the wolds areas, apart from one near Ampleforth.

Perhaps the farm went under a different name and the occupants called Harper, although this name is proving difficult of a Farmer at the right age and farm owner.

Any help would be most appreciated.

I would suggest the 1911 census.
