Am researching details of Luftwaffe (KG) air raids on Driffield and particularly a Junkers 88 which was shot down and displayed on some waste ground near the Brig cinema in Filey.
To the best of my recollection probably October 1940.
Any details would be much appreciated.

Hi Colly2
Its quite a while since you posted your request about the raids on Driffield in 1940. Ifyou still need any help e mail me because I was staioned all 1940 at Driffield as part of the ground defence with would you believe it ww1 Lewis guns. I have a comprehensive account of these attack compiled by a friend of mine
Tim Kitchen and he has all the KG numbers and casualties pluus ranks and names. I am sure that if you wish he would have no objection to me quoting from it as he has not to my knowledge publishe it yet
