I am anxious for any information regarding my uncle Roy Wycherley who was based at Driffield and killed on 11 June 1940. Any help at all gratefully received!

Thank you,
Paul Wycherley.

Jun 11/12 1940 crews from Driffield were part of bomber commands first attacks on Italy flying Whitleys, you should find more info. in 'Royal Air Force Bomber Command Losses of the Second World War 1940' by W.R. Chorley, the book is for sale on the Yorkshire Air Museum (YAM) web site

Have had a look at Chorley for 1940 and nothing recorded for that date - also nothing in Bomber Command Roll of Honour 1939-47, or Chorleys misc units. Note from CWGC that he was in RAFVR and down as Aircraftsman 1st class - presume you have those details?

Went back for few weeks in Chorleys losses 1940 - also nothing noted in BC Roll of Honour for 1940 either - will check couple of other sources.
