The Scottish government spent £30,000 celebrating their national saints day.

Guess how much Alistair Darling allocated for St George's Day in the whole of England?

£114.

Why should the Government pay anything? If I want to celibrate St Georges Day I buy a St Georges flag and have a do thats up to me, not the government. It should be a public holiday. If local councils or other public building wish to display a St Georges Flag again thats up to them. Not the Government. St Georges day should be apolitical. Can you immagine the comments if they had spent £1,000,000 on St Georges Day . What a waste of dosh £ 114 to much if you ask me and the money spent by Scotland was that to promote the day or clean up the vomit afterwards? For God , Lizzie and St George!! ta-rah!!
