Good question! I'm not sure myself most of the time! For anybody out there who remembers me, I left Driffield School in 1973 and I married Sherene (nee Martin) in 1975 and left Driffield to go and work in Hull. To cut a long story short, I am still married to Sherene and I am now a Chaplain in the RAF, presently based in Lincolnshire. I'd love to hear from any of the old gang (getter older all the time!)

I remember you very well Alan and I vaguely remember Sheree, tallish with dark hair I think! I was in the same year as yourself but I left school in 1974. I used to knock about with someone called Denise who had a younger brother called Alan, their parents were RAF. Perhaps you remember Martin Milner, Andrew Chambers, Gillian Dixon, Jane Hutchinson, Nigel Langdon et al from school? How's life in Lincolnshire? I seem to remember that you have a brother, am I correct?

Hi 'Galadriel' (I'm intrigued by who you might be!) I'm not sure who Denise & Alan were - I know Alan Bremner had a sister, but I'm not sure what her name was. I remember some of the names on your list, but I'm not sure we were in the same year. I was 18 when I left in 1973.

Galadriel, further to my earlier reply - yes I did have a brother - two brothers in fact. Eric, my older brother still lives in Nafferton and Brian, the youngest, lives in Beverley. I also have a sister, Brenda, who is the eldest and lives near York.

Alan, my apologies, I mistook you for your younger brother Brian, it was him that I was at school with, but I do remember you as well although obviously you were a few years above me at school. How's Brian doing? I visit Beverley quite a lot both for work and socially but I've never managed to bump into him yet.

Hi Galadriel, I'm still intrigued who you might be! Perhaps you could Email me and put me out of my misery. Don't worry, I'm not trying to use the Forum as a Dating Agency - in my line of work such things are frowned upon! I've looked at your postings and gleaned that you are articulate and intelligent, and your choice of user name means that you are reasonably literate. Not many folks who have only seen the film and not read the books wold have picked up on the Elven Queen's name.

Brian is very well. Married with two children aged 18 and 16. Both are very talented musically and lead him a merry dance providing taxi's here and there! The ironic thing for Brian is that, despite the fact that he is the youngest, he has the least hair! He started losing it whilst at college and has very little left now. Apart from the hair he is sickeningly similar to how he looked at school - so just look for a baldish version of the Brian you knew at school and you might spot him. He has worked in Hull as a Civil Servant for many years now.

Were you at the reunion of your year from school a few years ago? I escorted Sherene to it and got dragged into the proceedings where I met up with some embarrassing 'skeletons in the cupboard' from my mis-spent youth!

Have to say I am indeed a great fan of the books and the films dating back to about 1974 I would say. I can confirm I was at the school reunion a few years ago, it turned out to be quite a good night (although a distinct reminder of how old we were all becoming!)but I don't remember seeing Sherene, still there were that many that turned up, it was just impossible to talk to everybody.

Hi Alan. remember your mum and dad telling us you a Sky Pilot!.We used to live next door to each other in Coronation Street!! RAF Driffield. You must remember my brothers Billy, Graham and Alan. Many moons have past but what a lot we have seen. Our loving parents have gone and I know you have lost your special people too. Would be nice to have a chat sometime. Catch you later.

Aha! You must be One of the P****L***S! I came across Norma's son at St Athan in wales in 1996, but haven't had any futher contact since. Yes, it's sad that parents had passed on, but memories remain of fond times together as families serving in the RAF. I dont often check this forum, but will do so to see if you have picked up this mesage. Kind regards, Alan.

Hi Ann, thanks for the update with the family. Yes, it was Richard B I met at St Athan. I'm still a Sky Pilot with the RAF, not too far away from the Red Arrows home in rural Lincolnshire. Still married to Sherene, we have three children - all grown up, all married, all divorced! Ah well, that's life! I've recently gained some qualification in psychotherapy and hope to pursue a career (at least part-time) in counselling when I leave the RAF in about three years time.

I'm STILL intrigued as to who Galadriel is! Shy? you could email me at alancoates@tiscali.co.uk
