I'm looking for help tracing my ancestor who i have now found out emigrated to New Westminster, British Columbia in 1885. Through this forum i was contacted as somebody has a photograph of a stained glass window dedicated to Georges mother, Judith Eldon, which is situated in Vancouver Cathedral. George originally came from Beverley and was born in 1846.
Any help would be much appreciated

George Elden was born 1846 in Beverley East Yorkshire
his mother was called Judith.b1826
His father was John Elden b 18 July 1820 in Beverley at 46 Queens Gate Beverley he was a Cow Keeper and Dairy Man in the 1881 C
there are three children.
John 1854 Cow Keeper
Fredrick 1863 Gen Lab
Kate E 1866 Cow keepers daughter
I cant find the family in the 1871 C but they are in the 1861C
There is John and Judith and Children
Hannah 1844 at school
and George (who emigrated) b 1846
In 1871C
George 1846 is married to a Sarah Ann
They have the following Children:
JOhn 1868
Hannah Mary 1870
THey are living at 144 Boothferry Road
Wesley Square
Goole
East Yorks
I canniot find them in yorkshire on the 1881C

With all due respect the George Eldon listed above in the 1871 census living in Goole is not the correct one !
The one who emigrated to Canada was born in Beverley in 1846 and his wife was called Martha.
