An examination of the 1851 Census for Marton reveals the following:

Name: Mary Naisby

Relationshhip: Head

Marital Status: Widow

Age: 70

Occupation: Cowkeeper

Born: Leven

Name: Thomas Naisby

Relationship: Son

Marital Status: Single

Age: 54

Occupation: Cordwainer

Born: Swine

Name: Joseph Naisby

Relationship: Son

Marital Status: Single

Age: 50

Occupation: Cordwainer

Born: Swine

Name: William Naisby

Relationship: Son

Marital Status: Single

Age: 49

Occupation: Blacksmith

Born: Swine

It should be noted that Mary Naisby is the sister of William Mercer, druggist, of Hull.

It should also be noted that her age on the 1851 Census does not correspond with her obituary in the Hull Packet (see earlier posting)

Thanks Peter6

Noticed the mistake with the age.Often wondered if any census takers paid attention to what they were being told although lots of errors still today.
