I didn't bother counting, but did notice. Mill Street was remarkably clear that day though. For anyone who hasn't seen the new Google Street View that went live yesterday, have a look at the link below to get started. Link to Driffield town centre on Google Street View (That could be 2 of your 7 dou...

Arnold and his wife were cleaning out the attic one day when he came across a ticket from the local shoe repair shop. The date stamped on the ticket showed that it was over eleven years old. They both laughed and tried to remember which of them might have forgotten to pick up a pair of shoes over a ...

Tescos have been granted permission to build on the former Kwiksave site/existing Tesco site. I receieved a 10 page letter from ERYC this morning about it. One of the conditions in it says "Tesco Store shall not trade or otherwise be open to customers other than between the hours of 07:00 and 22:00 ...

I thought the councillors wanted the best for the town. Can they not see that by welcoming a huge chain pub into the town will ruin all the other pubs. Especially those that are not able to offer a food service. Those that can offer food should be OK, because whilst Wetherspoons is cheap it is not e...

Councillor Poessl... Coun Steve Poessl said: "It is brilliant news because if Wetherspoons are spending money in the town it just goes to show that Driffield isn't the dead place that some people think, somebody must think there is something here worth coming for. "It can only encourage people to co...

Now on to Councillor Fraser... Coun Fraser said: "I fully welcome the interest from Wetherspoons. "It would be an interesting and high profile development for Driffield which would bring a new aspect to the entertainment that's available in the town centre and would help with one of the key issues i...

Wetherspoons eyeing up Driffield

I couldn't quite believe my eyes to see Councillors Coopers comments on this at the Hull Daily Mail. Cllr Cooper said: "I welcome Wetherspoon because there is a lack of family entertainment facilities in Driffield, like somewhere to go for a meal together. "They have a reasonable pricing policy and ...
