Driffield has had a cricket club since the 1850's - a good one at that - if you are trying to trace this man, may i suggest the 1901/1911 census and also the newspaper archive of the Driffield Times, found on Find My Past, which often reported in great detail the cricket matches etc

Briefly, RC community established in Driffield in 1883. Mission Hall opened in Westgate. First priest 1886. Red-brick church opened on land adjacent.Followed conversion of Lady Sykes from Sledmere, money from Lady Herries of Everingham HalTrevor Malkin

I think that the hospital referred to, might be a series of wooden huts built I think for this purpose. It was sited where a now housing estate exists next door to the Alfred Bean Hospital, in Bridlington Road, Driffield. I myself was a patient there in 1947. The cemetery is next door and there are ...

You could try the website 'The Old Bridlingtonian Club', originally created for the boys school but joined with the girls in 1976 - several contacts there including an archivist
